Filigrana | Lewis Batchelar

As a maker, Batchelar's focus is the vessel. He aims to create aesthetically driven works that pay respects to the traditions and craftmanship of the material. Form and proportion are essential elements in all the work he creates.

Filigrana or Italian, “filigree glass” - The generic name for blown glass made with colourless, white, and sometimes coloured canes. The filigrana style originated on the island of Murano in the 16th century and spread rapidly to other parts of Europe. The technique was revived in Murano in the 19th century.

Dimensions approx: short: 120mm high, tall: 200mm high. Allow for variations in handmade glass.
